Total Transformation Reviews

If you are reading this post, then you’ve probably been scouring the interent looking for reviews of The Total Transformation Program so you can decide if it will work for your family.

Time for a little tough love….

Stop wasting your time looking for reviews.  I have read every page out there and let me summarize the reviews for you:

75% of them are glowing testimonials from parents who have used it successfully.

20% of them are parents who don’t recommend program because it didn’t work for them

5% of them are people bashing the program who have never even tried it.

Here’s the problem, the 20% who it didn’t work for all say the same thing:  it was too complicated or they weren’t comfortable with “tough love” or it just doesn’t work.

LET’S GET SERIOUS!

Anyone who uses those excuses (which is what they are) to say the program doesn’t work obviously didn’t give the program 100%.  The program requires a serious commitment to making a change.  So please don’t waste your time if you are not serious about committing to the program.

So what other questions could you have that I can help answer?

Cost:  It is expensive compared to buying a book at the bookstore but the saying “you get what you pay for” rings true in this situation.  Sign-up now and you only pay $19 for shipping and handling.  Then they bill you $109/month for 3 months after the 30 day free trial is over.

So if you are thinking about buying it, I suggest you take advantage of the free trial.  No matter how many reviews you read, the messages will be the same.  Those of us who made a commitment to making the program work think it is amazing, others couldn’t make it work for one reason or another.  The fact is, no one can tell you if it is right for your family.  You have to try it for yourself and see.

Here’s a link to the website where you can sign up for the free trial.

Try it for 30 days and send me an email at hollymosby@gmail.com with your thoughts on the program. I’d love to hear what you think.

Lesson 1 of The Total Transformation

By now you’ve either seen the commercial or heard the radio ad for the Total Transformation Program but now you are wondering, what the heck is it?

If you are like me, you have a loving wonderful child who likes to test boundaries, throw temper tantrums and other extremely frustrating behaviors.  Unfortunately, like the ad says, “kids don’t come with an instruction manual.”  I wish my son did have a manual because nothing I tried worked!  I used to yell a lot when I was frustrated with his behaviors, which only led to more yelling.  Then I tried rewarding good behavior but that only lasted a few days.  I tried pleading, begging and crying… I wanted him to see how his disrespectful behaviors hurt me, deeply.  While I could genuinely see he felt bad, it didn’t stop him from doing it again.

Frustrated, sad and confused, I decided to order the Total Transformation Program just to see what the hype was all about.  Besides, nothing I was doing was working so why not try something else.  I have to say that was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!  While I don’t know if it will work for you situation and it definitely wasn’t easy, the least I can do is give you an overview of the program so you know what to expect and you can decide for yourself if it is worth trying (oh, last I heard they were offering a FREE Trial, so it is definitely worth checking out for that price :)

What’s Included:

You get 7 CDs, a workbook and a DVD of a workshop for parents and a Jumpstart DVD with testimonials.  More importantly let me tell you about the lessons in the program.

Lesson 1:

Why Does My Child Act This Way?

This lesson is all about understanding where these defiant behaviors come from.  This is a very introspective lesson as it forces you to think long and hard about the reasons why your son or daughter may be acting out.  And some of the reasons may surprise you!

It is a very eye opening lesson because I didn’t realize some of the things that Mike might be struggling with in his everyday life.  I guess I took a lot of this stuff for granted.  The lesson is all about observation because understanding the problem makes it easier to find the solution.

·         Learn why inappropriate behavior is not your fault (you are NOT a bad parent)

·         16 common causes of bad behavior and which ones are destroying your family

·         A comprehensive Characteristics Profile to identify the root cause of you child’s behavior

Think you are ready to try out the Total Transformation.  Get started for FREE with their Free Trial Offer.

Best wishes!

Getting started with the Total Transformation

I started this site because it was quick and simple to use and gives me a way to provide an in-depth review of the Total Transformation.

Everyone’s heard the silly radio ad or seen it on TV but no one really knows much about what’s in it.  So that’s why I started this site, so you can see what is actually in the program and decide if it is for you or not.

I was definitely concerned about spending money on something that I knew nothing about.

When the package arrived I didn’t have high hopes.  I was expecting a big box but it is all contained in a folder 7 CDs, 1 DVD and a workbook.  The folder was damaged a bit in the mail so I was a bit concerned but I was determined to finish the whole program within 30 days so I could send it back if it didn’t work.

The first thing they want you to do is to watch the Jumpstart DVD.  As I mentioned it is kind of fluffy with all of the testimonials but when it ended I was excited to get started.  It does a good job of explaining what’s to come.

Then you crack open the workbook which lays out the plan completing the program:

  1. Start with the workbook: The workbook has a pretest for each lesson.  The pre-test is a good way to judge what you’ve learned from that lesson and it also a good introduction to the lesson
  2. Listen to the audio CD:  The lessons are about an hour long so plan accordingly.  I listened to them first thing in the morning before Mike and Mike woke up.  My only quiet time :)
  3. Finish with the workbook:  Then after listening to the CD, you are supposed to go back to the workbook.  There’s a summary, excercises and an action plan for using the techniques in the lesson.  The action plans are EXTREMELY helpful.  Instead of just dumping a bunch of information on you, they actually tell you how to use it.
  4. Do it all over again with the next lesson.

There is so much information in the lessons, they suggest only doing 1 a week and listening to the audio a few times during the week.  That would mean it would take 7 weeks to finish the whole program…. but if you are like me, you’ll listen to the whole thing in less than 2 weeks and if you decide to keep it, then go back through it slowly.

At the end of each lesson in the workbook they give you a number you can call if you have questions or need help.  They are amazing!  They are super friendly and helpful.  I remember the first time I called, it was after lesson 2.  I think the lady who I spoke to was named Susan.  I called because I was upset.  Actually I was pissed!  Lesson 2 is about ineffective parenting roles (more on that later).  They labeled me an “over-negotiator.”

How dare James Lehman tell me that I am a bad parent because I like to work things out with Mike?  How is it bad to teach your son that screaming won’t get him what he wants but compromising will?

Thankfully Susan was very understanding.  Apparently I’m not the only parent that gets upset after lesson 2.  She was very sweet and explained to me that I wasn’t a horrible mother but that I just needed to try some new techniques to help deal with Mike’s behavior.

It’s not that what I was doing wrong, but there were ways to make it more successful.  Susan was great.  We actually talked on the phone a few other times and I was just so glad to have someone to talk things over with.

So that’s an overview of how the program works.  Next time I’ll tell you what lesson 1 is all about.

Best,

Holly

The Total Transformation Program Review – Am I a bad parent?

I always felt deep down that since Mike was acting up so much that I was a BAD parent.  Have you felt like that?

His behavior was both embarrassing and frustrating.  I didn’t know how to deal with it.  It had to be my fault.  He was just a kid and I’m supposed to be the mother, right?

In the Total Transformation Program, they tell you that there are no bad parents, just ineffective parenting styles.  These ineffective parenting styles result from reacting to a child’s behavior instead of teaching the child how to manage situations without acting up.

Most bad behavior in kids is the result of a kids inability to solve problems.  They act out because they don’t know how to deal with their anxiety or frustration.  When I heard that, it all made sense.  I could see that Mike was frustrated and needed attention but the way I was responding to him didn’t help him deal with his frustration.

I have heard from so many parents who say their kids are angels at home but terrors at school.  Think about the social pressure and anxiety a kid must feel at school.  Their acting out is probably the result of their inability to cope with this anxiety.  If we focus on helping kids learn how to problem solve and deal with situations in the proper ways, we help our kids learn proper behavior.

It is so profound but so easy to overlook.  I didn’t think about Mike’s ability to solve problems, I just focused on how he would blow up every time I told him “No, you can’t have that piece of candy right now.”  My reaction to his reaction of me telling him no only leads to yelling and screaming.  THAT is ineffective parenting and that is exactly what I was doing.

The Total Transformation Program Jumpstart DVD is very eye-opening despite the multiple testimonials that I could have done without.

I did learn something though.  No one is born knowing how to problem solve, we have to teach them through effective parenting techniques.

The Total Transformation Program Review – Jump Start DVD

Here is my review of The Total Transformation Program Jumpstart DVD.  The Total Transformation Program has a TON of testimonials on the website and there’s no shortage of them in the Jumpstart DVD.  Enough already, let’s get on with the lessons.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results.

James tells us that if what we are currently doing to control our child’s defiant behavior then we need to do something different.  The Total Transformation is a totally different method of dealing with your child’s behavior so that you get a totally different result.

I guess the point of the Jump start DVD is to get you motivated and excited but I don’t need that.  I just need to know what I SHOULD be doing that is totally different from what I’m doing now.

The only interesting part of the Jumpstart DVD is listening to James’ lifestory.  Did you know that HE was diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder?  Can you believe that?  He admits to a life of drugs and crime before he was sent to Jail!  Finally, after participating in an accountability based treatment program his life changed.

That is incredible.  There is no better person to learn how to deal with Oppositional Defiant Disorder than someone who HAD it and now helps parents deal with it everyday in his social work practice.

Okay, so the Jumpstart DVD wasn’t a complete waste of time.  Actually it  was a pretty motivating part of the Total Transformation Program.  Hearing his story is very powerful.  I’m excited to get started!

The Best Part of The Total Transformation

I get a lot of questions about The Total Transformation Program.  That is why I started this site.  My favorite questions about James Lehan’s program is, “what is the best part of the program.”

Hands down, the best thing about the total transformation is the parental support program.  The program is very detailed and pretty easy to follow, however it is comforting to know that there is someone you can call anytime you want to get your questions answered.

As I read and watched the program, I was on the phone with them everyday.  I wanted to make sure I was doing everything correct.  I’m sure they got tired of hearing from me.

The total transformation was my last hope and I wanted to make sure it was going to work.  I tried putting him on medication but I didn’t like what it was doing to him.  Group counseling was working but VERY slowly so I had to find a way to deal with Mike’s Oppositional Defiant Disorder.

Thank goodness for the parental support program.  They kept me on-track with the program, made sure I understood the techniques and best of all, were there for me when I just wanted someone to talk to.

Don’t try to do it alone….

The Total Transformation - Over 100 Thousand Served

The Total Transformation Program has officially reached McDonald’s status.

Remember when the McD’s sign display how many people they had served.  After it reached 100 Billion they stopped posting it.

Well James Leman and the folks at The Total Transformation have officially touched the lives of over 100,000 families.  That is incredible.

Congratulations to those who’ve benefited and CHEERS to those who will benefit.  For more information about how the program changed my family, check out our blog

Best wishes,

Holly
